Welcome to Maya Brown & Hurley's Fundraising Page
We're participating in the DC Walk for the Animals benefiting the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) on September 22, and we're fundraising to benefit the thousands of animals HRA provides comfort and care to annually.
A little about us:
Maya Brown: I was born on the streets of Gainesville, Florida and was found by Hailes Angels Pet Resuce at four months old. My mom and one of her best friends came to visit me and I was adopted that very day (I think it was my short legs and big ears that melted her heart). If it wasn't for that rescue, I would have never met my mom, dad, and my two brothers, Hurley and Walker (who are also rescues!). P.S. I'm actually a blondie under all my brown fur, but don't tell anyone!
Hurley B: I was rescued by the Henry County Humane Society in Georgia when I was about six years old. My dad saw me outside a Petsmart and the nice rescue lady asked my dad if he wanted to take me for a walk. He had just lost my sister who I never got the chance to meet, but I think he really liked all my spots. A few days later, the nice rescue lady brought me to to my dad's house (I didn't know he was going to adopt me at the time!) where I met my feline brother, Walker, for the first time. A few months later, I met my to-be sister, Maya Brown, along with her cousin, Grey, on a bridge in Old 4th Ward Park. The rest, they say, is history.
Please consider contributing to support us, our brother, Walker, and all the adoptable animals out there. More importantly, please help us support the wonderful work HRA does to make a difference in the lives of DC's animals.
